Vassar is offering a free six-week Computer Science Camp to current students! This Introduction to Computer Science non-credit course will be challenging and fun and taught through a variety of demonstrations and projects. Classes will meet daily during the week for six weeks, from June 18th to July 27th, and cover material that would otherwise be covered in a full-semester class. Basic programming, algorithms, design, documentation, and testing skills using the Python programming language will be taught, and students will work on projects that apply computer science solutions to real-world problems.
Prior programming knowledge is not required, but participants will need a good grasp of algebra and the commitment to attend the camp for the full six weeks. The camp—including classes and room and board—are free, and participants will receive a $1,000 stipend for successfully completing the program.
Interested students must send resume, statement of interest, and the name of a faculty reference to John Bradley at email@example.com by April 20.
