Employers

The Office of Career Development is committed to offering services that meet employer needs.

The following are ways we can help you build relationships with bright and talented Vassar students. Check any that interest you, fill in your contact details at the bottom of this page and we’ll get back to you right away.

If you would like to post a job or internship with our office, please fill out the Job and Internship Opportunities form.

If you would like to set up an on-campus visit for a employer information session or an on-campus interview day, please let us know, and we will follow up with you regarding arrangements. Employers typically schedule a resume deadline by posting their opportunity with us approximately one month prior to an on-campus interview date. This allows you to pre-select the students you wish to interview. Directions to Vassar and train schedules may help in planning your on-campus visit. There are no fees to recruit at Vassar College for on-campus interviewing and for the setting up of information sessions.

Vassar is a member of this 14-college consortium which holds December/January recruiting days in Boston, Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C. An overview of this program is available at SLAC. Interview schedules for each city are prescreened and there is a fall deadline for participation.

The 2008-09 dates are:
Chicago Recruiting Day - Friday, December 5, 2008
Boston Recruiting Day - Wednesday, January 7, 2009
New York Recruiting Day - Thursday, January 8, 2009
Washington DC Recruiting Day - Monday, January 12, 2009

Employers can pre-register for Selective Liberal Arts Consortium (SLAC) Events. Please mention that you learned of SLAC from Vassar College.

The Fall Recruiting Consortium brings together students from Vassar, Bowdoin, Middlebury, Swarthmore, Sarah Lawrence and Wesleyan Colleges for a day of interviews in New York City with a variety of organizations. This year, the event will be held on Friday, October   24, 2008. For consideration, students must apply by 11:59 pm (EST) on September 29, 2008.

LACN provides employers with a variety of services to market job openings, evaluate candidates and locate interns and trainees for management programs or entry-level positions. Employers can easily access a combined pool of 60,000 highly competitive students from 29 colleges in which Vassar is a member. We invite employers to post job and internship opportunities for free to the LACN consortium. On that website please go to "Employer Services." If you post an opportunity with LACN, please indicate that you learned of this consortium through Vassar College.

Not-For-Profit Days in New York City and Boston

These fairs, sponsored by Vassar and other selective colleges, offer public service organizations excellent exposure to job candidates and potential interns.

Summer opportunities, as well as internships, are advertised to students through the e-Recruiting database. Provide internships and job opportunities by filling out the Job and Internship Opportunities form.

Send us your promotional material and we will make it available to students:
