Counselors are available for appointments in the office and by phone (for off-campus students and alumnae/i). Appointments/consultation may cover topics such as career change, interview preparation, resume/cover letter review, job search strategies, graduate school advising, and more. Appointments may be scheduled for 30 or 60 minutes.

Should you have a past employer/professor or current one who appreciates your work, you can build up your own qualifications for future jobs or potential graduate schools with their comments on file. The Career Development Office offers every Vassar student the opportunity to create a file and store recommendations. You can then have the Career Development Office send these recommendations upon request to potential employers or graduate schools, rather than having to repeatedly ask for recommendations. The Career Development Office will continue to maintain your credential file for 10 years after your date of graduation.
